IN PERSON COUNSELING SESSIONS

The approach to counseling at EC&H is to work with each person's situation individually and from as many different angles as possible. As human beings, our emotions do not stem from one situation, but are usually rooted from many experiences, attitudes, and beliefs. By working with a multi-dimensional approach on a conscious, subconscious, spiritual, and sometimes even physical level that is unique for each individual, and using a combination of modalities that are appropriate, it is assured that each person will have their needs met.   Know that your issues will be resolved in a manner that is safe, gentle, and effective.

If you are interested in setting up a counseling session, consultation, or both, please call 360-943-4144.  If you have further questions you would like to have answered email EvergreenCounselingHyp@gmail.com.  There is no charge for a consultation which takes 20 to 30 minutes.  Cost of each session is dependant on the method of payment used.  Please inquire by email for details.  Payment is required at each session.  Please inquire as to insurance coverage.

E-COUNSELING

Counseling online offers you an opportunity to consult with a professional for support, advice and feedback. It can offer an important resource for a variety of life challenges when emotional support and therapeutic change is needed. E-Counseling can be done through email (see the "LEARN MORE" at the end of this paragraph).  Connections can also be arranged through a secure online video connection, such as Zoom.  Sessions are 50 minutes and  payable at the time with credit card.  The type of techniques available for use in e-Counseling may be limited, depending on your individual situation.  Please email or call to inquire about your particular situation and what is most appropriate for you.  LEARN MORE

COUNSELING BY PHONE

There are times when a client might desire more personal contact through the phone for counseling but might not be able to physically be present for one-on-one sessions. Thirty minute and 50 minute sessions are available for your convenience. Phone counseling is not appropriate for severe issues, but in many situations can provide the support and feedback that can assist you in making decisions and continuing personal growth. Please call or email to set up an appointment.

HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to access the subconscious mind. It is a very natural frame of mind, something we experience everyday. Have you ever been driving down a freeway and been lost in your thoughts to the point that you drove past your exit? Have you ever driven from point A to point B and not been aware of what you passed? These are typical waking states of hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a very relaxed state of mind and body while at the same time you are able to hear and remember everything you experience. You can open your eyes at any time or even get up and walk out if you would choose. With the use of hypnotherapy the subconscious can assist you in making those changes you have been struggling with for so long.

We use hypnosis as part of a very effective quit smoking program. Learn more about the Quit Smoking Program.

IS HYPNOSIS SAFE?
Hypnosis cannot make you do anything you choose not to do. A person cannot be hypnotized unwillingly. If the subconscious understands the change to be healthy and desirable, it will be willing to accept the new positive messages. Because you are always aware of everything that is going on around you, you remember everything that happens while in a state of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy can offer you tools for the change you desire in your life.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is described by the EMDR Institute as an information processing therapy that utilitzes psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies in an eight phrase approach. EMDR has been effectively used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, fear, anxiety, and situations that involve a great deal of emotional intensity. As a therapist trained by the EMDR Institute, Ms. Bennett follows the protocols established to maintain stability with each client while working through the eight phases of treatment. More information can be read about EMDR in the many articles that have been written by its founder, Francine Shapiro, Ph.D. and the EMDR Institute, Incorporated's official website at http://www.emdr.com/.

TRAUMA RESOLUTION

There are many different situations that happen in life that can create deep wounds that are difficult to resolve without assistance. Whether from childhood abuse (sexual, emotional or physical abuse) or situations in life that involve catastrophic events (war, disaster, accidents, acts of violence, significant loss), the result can be post-traumatic stress disorder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-traumatic_stress_disorder). Resolving trauma through therapy can free one up to be able to reclaim one's life from the past. It is important that this process be done in a manner that is safe, provides stability, is gentle, and the appropriate tools provided through therapy to make the process as efficient and effective as possible.

A multi-dimensional approach is taken in therapy, working with the conscious and subconscious. This gives the client more access to new healthy coping tools to process the emotion. EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is often used as part of this process, if appropriate. Feel free to call and schedule a consultation for more information.
